We are a small-scale, Dutch organisation and have been walking in Andalusia since 1994. We organise walking holidays from the sunny village of Cómpeta (Andalusia). We can have daily contact to provide you with route advice or tourist tips or simply to catch up with a glass of wine on a sunny terrace.
Walking trails for endless walking in Andalusia
Beautiful walking routes along vineyards, narrow mountain passes and through deep river valleys. But also stroll along the beaches of the Mediterranean or through the narrow streets of the white villages in the area. You do not need a special mountain walking experience, you walk 1.5 to 8 hours a day, climbing an average of 400 to a maximum of 740 meters. The beautiful climb to the top of the mountain Lucero (1,779m) is tough, you climb 1,000 meters on narrow mountain paths for an impressive view to the Sierra Nevada and the Riff mountains in North Africa. You do not need a guide and walking routes generally start at the door of your accommodation. To fully enjoy your walking holiday, we offer a package with a detailed walking map and possibility of transfers to starting points of walking routes. Walking excursions with a guide can also be organised.
Below a preview of walking in Andalusia.
The best walking climate in Europe
Walking in Andalusia is done in the autumn, winter or early spring when it is wet and chilly in other parts of Europe. Our region has a sunny climate, with on average 320 'Sundays' per year, which is an average of 8 sun hours per day. Our location is also popular for cycling and mountain biking. Walking here can also be combined with one or more days of cycling.
Welcome in Cómpeta
Your destination Cómpeta (Andalusia) is located at an altitude of 640 meters, at the end of a green, elongated valley and is one of the picturesque white villages along the Ruta del Vino (wine route). Typical for Andalusia (southern Spain) are the bright white houses with weathered, terracotta roof tiles, narrow streets with bright red geraniums and old men on a bench under the church tower. Endless walking in Andalusia through a landscape with ancient olive trees from the time when the Moors still farmed here. Besides that, Cómpeta is also easily accessible.

What do our guests say about hiking in Andalusia?
Casa Granada, what a lovely, spacious house, fully equipped! Albert promised the beds would be good; that was certainly not too much to say, we also needed after the brisk walks in the beautiful Tejeda & Almijara Nature Park! The roof terrace is a wonderful place to have breakfast in the pleasant morning sun and to enjoy a wonderful sundown after walking all day in the evening, overlooking Cómpeta and always the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
And then the walks in the beautiful, rugged landscape of the Nature Park adjacent to the village with the personal guidance of Albert, his hiking tips, the clear maps, and the transfers by 4x4 vehicles to the most beautiful hiking routes! All this made our two-week stay in Cómpeta a wonderful time. We enjoyed Albert's hospitality and special commitment during our walking holiday. Andalusia Sportief - Hiking - Cómpeta = definitely recommended and worth repeating!
Albert, thank you again for everything!
